Farayi Lindsay Nyabereka

Farayi Lindsay Nyabereka is a writer, creative educator, certified life coach, and human and environmental rights advocate currently pursuing studies in law. A multipotentialite responding to the global polycrisis, her work focuses on women, youth, and the sustainability of our Earth—particularly where these concerns intersect. She is a passionate champion of community development, peacebuilding, and self-determination in the Global South. Her work strongly supports SDG 4: inclusive and equitable quality education, with global citizenship education (GCED) at its core.

Lindsay is the founder of GCED 4 Zimbos (Global Citizenship Education for Zimbabwean Youth and Women), a lifelong learning initiative that blends creative education for sustainable development and global citizenship with Southern African liberation history. Using semi-formal, creative, social-emotional education and digital dissemination, the program engages participants through spoken word, mindfulness, craft, media, expressive movement, and peace dialogues—fostering understanding and action in response to the polycrisis. The focus is on identity, common humanity, and holistic, transformative education.

A notable milestone was the Poetry 4 Peace book launch in 2022, featuring 22 Zimbabwean youth in an anthology exploring the SDGs and the spirit of Ubuntu: “I am because we are.” Since then, both in-person and online participation in GCED 4 Zimbos has grown steadily across Zimbabwe. The initiative’s guiding motto is “People, Planet, Peace.”

Lindsay is the editor of Poetry 4 Peace: A Zimbabwean Youth Community Anthology on the SDGs and Ubuntu and the founder of Healing with Words—a social enterprise and publishing platform offering emotional and spiritual healing tools for Women of Color.

She was crowned Miss Planet Zimbabwe in 2023 and was a top 7 finalist for Miss Zimbabwe World Class in 2024/2025.
