Celine Trojand

Celine Trojand is a community organizer focused on defending the land, water, and climate that sustain us all. Before joining Ecotrust Canada, she worked at the center of several of British Columbia’s most prominent environmental advocacy campaigns as a leader, trainer, and strategist. Through her work with Organize BC, Organizing for Change, and Dogwood BC, she has contributed to strengthening the collective capacity and impact of the environmental and conservation movement.

Raised in a rural context, Celine is deeply committed to empowering Canada’s rural, remote, and Indigenous communities. She believes the future is rural, and that small communities hold significant potential to generate economic, cultural, and social solutions for a more resilient future.

Celine studied Anthropology, Biology, and French at the University of British Columbia; Ecological Restoration at the University of Victoria; Community Economic Development at Simon Fraser University; and Leadership and Organizing at Harvard Kennedy School.

Depending on the season, Celine lives with her partner and two huskies in Tahsis, at her family homestead in Kitwanga, or in Atlin, BC—on the territories of the Nuu-chah-nulth, Gitxsan, and Taku River Tlingit, respectively. She also practices ceramics, farming, dog handling, and water taxi operations.
