Adivhaho (Adi) Mpho Nengwekhulu is a 23 years old newly appointed Dzomo la Mupo deputy director. She completed her Honours (Bachelors) degree in Indigenous Knowledge Systems from the University of Venda alumni in May 2024. Adi is passionate in engaging communities through cultural biodiversity dialogues; protection of indigenous forests; promotion of indigenous tree nurseries and Agroecological farming methods. She understands the need to map the community territories for sustainable nature conservation. Furthermore, she is an IKS student ambassador for Biodiversity Conservation, Education, Research, and Advocacy at the University of Venda Directorate of Community Engagement, Entrepreneurship, Inclusive Innovation and Commercialisation. Adivhaho’s vision is to live in a world where humans and all living things are in harmonious coexistence, without anyone or anything interfering with the co-existence.
Adi is a mentee of The Dzomo la Mupo director Mphatheleni Makaulule and Professor Vhonani Olive Netshandama who is a director of Univen Community Engagement.
