Isapi Rua

Isapi Rua is a Guaraní community communicator and environmental advocate based in Camiri, Bolivia. She is a founding member of Andarina, a mobile community radio initiative launched in 2021 to foster intergenerational and interterritorial dialogue among Guaraní peoples. Working closely with rural schools in the Bolivian Chaco, Andarina uses radio-based sound art as a pedagogical tool—reviving collective memory and cosmovision as forms of cultural resistance to extractivism.

Isapi has produced audio content in Guaraní and Weenhayek to advance climate-change media literacy for Indigenous audiences, as part of Voices for Just Climate Action, supported by the Avina Foundation. She has expanded Andarina’s reach through FM antennas and loudspeaker systems in remote communities, enabling storytelling, youth participation, and the sharing of ancestral memory in Tatarenda Nuevo and Cañadillas.

Through her work with the SONANDES platform and the Red Chaco network, Isapi helps shape Indigenous communication strategies rooted in cosmovision, ancestral knowledge, and self-determination. Her careful narrative sensibility and community leadership have made Andarina a regional reference point in Indigenous-led communication.
