Flávia dos Santos

Flávia dos Santos is a Black woman, Quilombola, and mother of two. Her life’s path weaves together education, activism, and care for community. A lifelong lover of nature, she has been active in the Quilombola movement since the age of 15 and brings the perspective of a rural intellectual to her work—grounded in lived experience and collective responsibility.

She holds a degree in Administration and is currently studying Rural Education with a focus on the human and social sciences. Her work centers community-based processes, and she brings sensitivity and presence to the spaces where communication, resilience, and fragility meet.

Flávia has long been involved in the mobilization and coordination of Quilombola and farming communities. She is an active member of the Quilombola Movement and the Quilombola Commission of Sapê do Norte, coordinator of the Quilombola Women’s Collective, and a member of the National Human Rights Movement. Through these roles, she has contributed to collective planning, recovery initiatives, and the empowerment of communities through training, knowledge exchange, and expanded access to rights.
