Gloria Kukurije Adeyiga is a research scientist at the Forestry Research Institute of Ghana, with a focus on gender, climate change, agroforestry, and environmental sustainability. For over a decade, her research has centered on improving food security for smallholder farming households in Northern Ghana.
She played a key role in Regreening Africa, a major restoration initiative that was recently honored with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration Award for its impact across sub-Saharan Africa. The project addressed farmers’ vulnerability to climate change, supported sustainable livelihoods, and worked to reduce gender disparities in restoration outcomes.
In addition to her academic work, Gloria has consulted for a range of domestic and international development organizations, including USAID, bringing her expertise to programs that bridge science, policy, and practice.
