Guided by a commitment to justice for marginalized communities, journalist and social entrepreneur Kumar Sambhav leads Land Conflict Watch (LCW), India’s first and largest database tracking ongoing disputes over land resources. He co-founded LCW as a multidisciplinary research and communications initiative to document, analyze, and amplify the realities of natural-resource conflicts, ensuring that the voices of affected communities are heard in public and policy debates.
Under his leadership, LCW has produced reports that have shaped discussions in Parliament, influenced Supreme Court cases, informed government policy, contributed to peer-reviewed scientific research, and prompted follow-up investigations by media outlets across the country.
