Jacinta Kerketta

A poet, writer, journalist, and community builder, Jacinta is revitalizing Adivasi communities through literature and cultural regeneration.

Jacinta travels and lives in the tribal belts of Jharkhand where she facilitates intergenerational dialogue between youth and elders. Her writing builds bridges between communities, local government, artists, and cultural leaders. This has led to the creation of the Adivasi Ekta Manch, led by Adivasi youth. The Manch runs an annual platform where more than 5000 participants generate ideas and action for countering migration, and conflicts while renewing local language, arts, stories, and music.

Jacinta is partnering with Adivasi communities to research and instill new life into their traditional ‘Parha system’ of grassroots democracy.
