Conservation and Climate “Profit”

Taita Taveta county is 337.7 kilometres from Nairobi city. In a bid to conserve the ecosystem, the residents are determined to co-exist with the wildlife and the forests. It is exciting to watch older people prioritize conservation as a source of income. This also addresses the human-wildlife conflict, which is rampant, and it gives hope that this spirit will be instilled in the young generation.

This story is another in a series of reporting I am doing, as a part of my work to tell more stories of the polycrisis in Africa and its impacts.
